Budapest

I guess since I do live in Budapest, I should post some more photos from there. Between the Netherlands and Norway (coming soon!) I had some time to hang out in the city and do some touristy things.

I took my mom to one of my favorite places in the city, the central market. I wish we could buy our groceries at a place like this in the States, but unfortunately we have to shop at bright, shiny supermarkets with advertisement overstimulation and pop music in the background.

The best part is that everything is cheap because there is probably little to no overhead for people selling their goods there. They can display things how they want and even smoke cigarettes right at their stalls.

We also took a dinner cruise on the Danube with live music. They played all the same songs as the musicians did in the movie Titanic, so we were hoping that the boat wouldn't sink. It didn't, and the views were beautiful!

It was a buffet, so naturally everyone had a great time. I was particularly glad that I remembered to wear my stretchy pants!

A grunge bar called Csendes for some late night drinks.

The Citadella.

St. Istvan's Basilica.

The Parliament building at night.
