The weekend of Thanksgiving, my friends and I celebrated by taking a three day trip to Vienna. Well, it really had nothing to do with Thanksgiving; we just wanted to see Vienna!
Our first stop was at a Christmas market in Museumsquartier. What a colorful, musical, and good-smelling market it was! The Viennese really know how to celebrate the holidays.
Everybody was in a good mood.
That is the Rathaus in the background which we visited on the last night.
We went to the amusement park at night. This is the Riesenrad, which is a giant ferris wheel that has been turning in Vienna since 1867 (hopefully with some renovations). It was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Franz-Joseph's coronation.
I just love the way empty amusement parks look at night.
